Díkaion – Discover Our Journal’s New Section

TO THE LEGAL AND ACADEMIC COMMUNITY

We are pleased to announce the creation of a new section of Díkaion: “Comments on the Judgments and Advisory Opinions of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.”

At a time when the case law of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights has a direct impact on domestic legal systems, this section provides a forum for systematic analysis and rigorous legal reasoning. It is grounded in the conviction that the decisions of the Inter-American Court require careful examination that goes beyond merely citing them or describing their outcomes. Their study provides an opportunity to examine the legal foundations and reasoning underlying each decision, situate it within the development of the Court’s case law, and analyze the methods through which its standards are established. The section also provides a forum for discussing how these decisions are received within domestic legal systems and their implications for State practice.

In this context, the section’s editorial team warmly invites professors, researchers, and legal professionals to contribute original articles, critical studies, case-law commentaries, book reviews, and review essays or to participate as peer reviewers.

The section will publish one issue annually under a continuous publication model. The editorial criteria, author guidelines, submission requirements, and peer-review process are available on the Díkaion website.

We are grateful to the Faculty of Legal, Political, and International Studies of the University of La Sabana and Unisabana Editorial for making possible this forum for the study and discussion of human rights protection, democracy, and the rule of law in the region. We would be delighted to welcome your participation in this academic initiative.

Sincerely,

Mónica Palencia, Ph.D.
