Abstract

The quality of democracy has been one of the new spotlights in the study of political science; the following work focuses itself in this theme, delivering some theoretical thoughts about the concepts of democracy and quality. In the same manner, it seeks to determine the variables that should or should not to be considered in the study of the quality of democracy.
To achieve this objective, the authors devote the second part of the essay to reconstruct two important indexes of the quality of democracy which are usually used to assess the quality of democracy in the region.
