From gender to the family perspective: elements for a new proposal
Keywords:
Gender, human rights, family, complementarity, legality.Abstract
The gender ideology, found in various documents at the level of the in- ternational community and with an influence on certain national laws, shows the need for an iusphilosophical analysis that is able to unravel its concepts, its different models and, ultimately, its anthropological pre- sumptions. the ambiguity expressed by this ideology in conditioning the natural dimension of gender to the cultural dimension requires, at this point, proposing a perspective that is capable of illustrating the integrity of the human being in his/her individual and social dimension, and –at the same time– in the indispensable complementarity and shared or co- responsibility between male and female. these underlying fundamentals for authentic human development (expressed in education, health, work, economics, etc.) constitute the foundation of the family perspective, which is a new proposal more than an alternative.
