A Proposal for Revising the European Social Security Coordination System

Abstract

Based on how the social security coordination system the European Union has evolved, this article analyzes the principles and regulations guiding that a system, as well as the dilemma that exists between bilateral agreements and regulations on coordination. It concludes with a reference to the points proposed by the European Commission to revise regulations 883/2004 and 987/2009.
