La Corte Contitucional: entre la ley de gradualidad y la gradualidad de la ley
Keywords:
Abortion, Colombian Constitutional Court, forgiveness, legalization.Abstract
This article, written one month after the Constitutional decision on abortion was issued, presents some critical reflections about the polemic decision. The core thesis in development, based on both press releases of May 11 and 12 of 2006 and press statements of the complainant and the justice writing for the court, is that different from the Court view, abortion in Colombia was legalized under three broad circumstances. This legalization implies the recognition of abortion, not only as a right, but the medical staff liabilities to practice abortion.
